The Research Center
Comprehensive research facility
The centre grants researchers direct
access to the confidential microdata from Statistics Canada's
longitudinal surveys and many other household surveys. Since
researchers are required to access and analyze the data within the
centre, the COOL RDC offers a comprehensive research environment with a
closed local area network consisting of a powerful server that supports
12 PC workstations. Each workstation offers a wide choice of
statistical software. Additional software can usually be added as
required.
Workstations
There are 12 PC workstations, including 4 workstations equipped with
dual monitors. Please reserve the workstation that you would like to
use at the time you reserve your time at the RDC. Some workstations may
occasionally be reserved for system administration, and will not be
available.
There are lockers available for the use of all researchers in the
centre. Combination locks are available from the analyst and a record
of the combination is kept on file incase someone forgets the
combination to their locker. The availability of lockers will depend on
demand.
COOL RDC Software
