The Workplace and Employee Survey (WES)

The Workplace and Employee Survey (WES) is designed to explore a broad range of issues relating to employers and their employees. The survey aims to shed light on the relationships among competitiveness, innovation, technology use and human resource management on the employer side and technology use, training, job stability and earnings on the employee side.

Elmustapha Najem, directeur du module des relations industrielles at l'Université du Québec en Outaouais and a researcher at the centre de recherche sur l'emploi, le syndicalisme et le travail (CEREST) de l'Université du Québec en Outaouais, will lead the WES workshop as part of the series of workshops organized by the COOL RDC.

Professor Najem will present an overview of WES, covering the following subjects:

  • the WES methodology
  • access to the WES data
  • the main subject areas covered by WES
  • importantvariables of interest
  • projects using WES
  • prospects for future collaboration

Date: Friday, March 10, 2006 from 10:00 to 11:30 AM

Location: Room MRT 248 of the Morisett Building at the University of Ottawa, 65, University Street.

Intended audience: Open to all; no technical expertise will be assumed.

Language of the workshop: The workshop will be conducted primarily in French.
